Anonymous: hi!! I'm currently in year 12 doing art and am still stuck on an art major concept how did you think of yours?!

hey there! My concept came about through my own experiences in an indigenous community and it left quite an impression on me! I suggest you go for something that moves you emotional/ mentally, even challenges you or the social norms of today. Art is something that not necessarily always pleasing to look at. I went to see The Art Gallery of NSW which holds all the art express winners recently and can tell you majority of winners work had the most amazing concepts, some quite disturbing, but their works not as grand as you’d think. Mostly intricate and had many layers to it. Also choose your materials and art style (eg. painting, sculpture) wisely as it needs to coincide with your concept!
